Programme Overview
OET stands for "Occupational English Test", which is an international English language test for healthcare professionals. The test is designed to assess the language proficiency of healthcare professionals who want to work or study in an English-speaking environment.
OET covers four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening, and it is specifically designed to assess the language abilities of healthcare professionals in their professional context. The test is available in several healthcare-related fields, including nursing, medicine, dentistry, physiotherapy, and pharmacy.
The test is recognized by various healthcare boards and councils in Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, and Singapore, among others, as evidence of English language proficiency for registration and immigration purposes.
Our Training
The syllabus for the OET at FEDAR International may vary depending on the specific healthcare field you are studying for (e.g. nursing, medicine, dentistry, etc.). However, the general format of the test typically includes four sections: Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking.
Reading: This section tests your ability to comprehend and understand written texts related to your specific healthcare field.
Writing: This section requires you to write a letter or report related to a healthcare scenario.
Listening: This section tests your ability to understand spoken English in a healthcare context. You will be tested on your ability to understand and interpret audio material.
Speaking: This section tests your ability to communicate effectively and professionally in English in a healthcare context. You will participate in a role-play scenario with an OET assessor.
